Before reading Book! Book! Book!

v    Give the children paper and markers or crayons.

v    Read through page 7, stopping at, ÒIÕm bored! And IÕm heading to town to find something to do!Ó The animals followed her (the chicken) down the road.

v    Ask the children: What do you think the animals did when they got to town? Draw a picture that shows what they did. Write a caption.

v    If the children arenÕt able to write a caption, they can dictate it to the teacher.

v    Let the children share their stories.

v    Now read the whole story out loud.

Keep your eye on the frog!

v    Can you find the frog on every page?

v    He has a little friend. Can you find him?

v    Does his little friend, the mouse, speak in the story?

v    What do you think the mouse and the frog are saying to each other?

Keep you eye on story hour

v    Look at the illustration of story hour. What kind of puppet is the librarian holding?

v    Now find the illustration of story hour in the barnyard.

v    What animal is reading?

v    What kind of puppet is she holding?
